UKMTO says vessel hit by projectile in Strait of Hormuz

The UK Maritime Trade Operations agency said a company security officer reported a vessel struck by an unknown projectile during an outbound transit of the Strait of Hormuz. UKMTO said the impact damaged the engine room and caused a crew casualty, with the remaining crew assisted by the Omani coastguard. No environmental impact was reported and authorities are investigating.

Hormuz shipping stays muted with only six commodity vessels Monday

Reuters, citing preliminary Kpler ship-tracking data reported by Al Jazeera, said six commodity vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, three entering and three exiting, against a 10-day average of about 11. Traffic fell to three ships Saturday and two Sunday, with no supertankers or LNG carriers recorded. Kpler noted some vessels may transit with transponders off.

Iraqi Kurdish PM Barzani office hit by drones from Iran, KRG says

Iran annual inflation hits 66 percent amid war-linked cost crisis

Iranian Labour News Agency, citing official data carried by Al Jazeera, reported annual inflation at 66 percent, with point-to-point inflation at 87.9 percent in July.
