US President Donald Trump told reporters Iran would love to make a deal but is not ready to make the right deal in his view. He also said he sees the Strait of Hormuz as American territory right now, as the US continues economic pressure and naval restrictions around Iranian shipping.

Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Washington planned measures assert extraterritorial sovereignty over UN member states and amount to a return to classic colonialism. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran has seen similar sanctions before and called the new push bound to fail.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told doctors on Friday that Tehran should bring the war with the United States to an end while holding power and dignity. Omani and Iranian foreign ministers also held a call on ways to resume dialogue and on Strait of Hormuz navigation, according to Oman state media.
