Pakistan and Kuwait signed a Protocol Agreement-2026 in Rawalpindi on Thursday, expanding a defence framework in place since 2023. Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signed the deal. Islamabad said it will help train Kuwaiti forces, build defence capacity and assist with border management, part of a wider Gulf push to deepen military ties with Pakistan amid the Iran war.

Iran drafting conditions to reopen Strait of Hormuz, security chief says
