Second US Warplane Downed Near Strait of Hormuz — A-10 Warthog Lost During Rescue Mission

A US Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II ("Warthog") was shot down near the Strait of Hormuz during search and rescue operations for the missing F-15E crew member. The A-10 pilot ejected safely and was recovered by US Navy forces. Iran claims a "new advanced defence system" was responsible, contradicting US assertions that Tehran's air defenses were destroyed. A US Black Hawk helicopter was also struck but remained airborne. The search continues for the F-15E weapons systems officer missing since yesterday.
