US intelligence chief says Iran has increased plots against US personnel
US National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton wrote in an unclassified memo to Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday that Iran has substantially increased efforts to target US personnel, and that lethal plotting against US citizens has reached advanced stages in the Middle East and some other countries, the BBC reported. A US official told the BBC that Iranian plots and Houthi attacks are informing staffing decisions at embassies already on restricted operations. Iran has not issued an immediate public response in that report.
